Police officers handcuffed a 28-year-old delivery man who was throwing rocks at pedestrians and vehicles in the northern suburbs of Attica. The alleged perpetrator was arrested yesterday afternoon, Monday 4 May, in the area of Nea Erythraia after cooperation between officers of the Kifissia Crime Investigation and Detection Department and officers of the IS Team. A case file was formed against him for aggravated bodily harm on a serial and repeated basis, bodily harm to weak persons and damage to property.

As highlighted in a relevant statement, police officers, after an investigation conducted in relation to recorded attacks against pedestrians and vehicles in Ekali and Nea Erythraia with stone throwing by an unknown person, who was riding a two-wheeled delivery vehicle, identified the 28-year-old as the perpetrator.

As it emerged from the investigation of the alleged attacks, the perpetrator, during the last fortnight, moving mainly in the afternoon and evening hours with a two-wheeler he used as a delivery man in the areas of Ekali and Nea Erythraia, approached pedestrians or parked vehicles and threw stones, causing injuries and damage. In order to make it difficult to identify him, he wore a protective helmet.

In fact, police said, the 28-year-old made multiple attacks in the same day, and in one case assaulted and injured a minor.

Seven cases of attacks in Ekali, Nea Erythraia and Kifissia have been solved by the preliminary investigation so far.

In addition, the two-wheeler and the helmet he used during the commission of the offences were seized.

The arrested man was taken to the competent prosecutor.
