A shocking incident of violence occurred in broad daylight on Saturday in Pagrati, when a 22-year-old driver was attacked by a man for a parking space.

The girl was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury, while the assailant remains at large.

Speaking to Live News, she described her nightmare experience:

“My friend lives in Pagrati and she says to me ‘I have found a place almost under the house, at 50 meters’. I was at 100 meters. I go, I go up and at that moment this man comes down from the apartment building and I’m like this, I’ve got my face in the spot, I temporarily close his bike because I want to park.”

The tension reached a climax, however, as the motorbike driver reacted aggressively and asked her to move her vehicle.

“And he says, basically, ‘Come on, get up and go. And what are you doing?’ And in one minute, that’s what turns the screw. He starts calling me the most vulgar names, my mother, ‘christophanies,’ whatever you can imagine. He’s a real bastard. And me being a bit of a beast, I’m not afraid of such things in general. Maybe I should start being afraid.”

The driver got out of the car, but the situation “got out of hand”

“I’m getting out of the car. Before I can get out of the car and close the door, I see him put on his helmet. He comes over, grabs me by the collar. He punches me in the left side of the face. He throws me very, very violently into the car. There I fall and my leg rots. With the force of his throwing me I turned it over completely. So I ran away… Then when I fell down he started kicking me, hitting me.”

Then, the 22-year-old started screaming and was heard by bystanders who rushed to her aid: “Because it was broad daylight. I mean, I never thought I would get out of the car, with so many people around, that one person would be able to do that. I mean, it’s crazy.”
