The 19 Greek citizens who participated in the “Global Sumud Flotilla” returned to Athens on Friday evening, following coordinated actions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the assistance of the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul.
According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the Greek citizens arrived at 21:00 on a commercial flight in the Greek capital, completing the repatriation process. At the same time, those of the participants who were deemed to be in need of medical attention were transferred to a hospital for first aid and necessary examinations.
Their return was under the supervision of the Greek consular and diplomatic authorities, who have been in constant communication with the competent authorities for the past few days to arrange all the necessary procedures.
