The Fire Services in Attica and Evia, as well as the 1st and 7th Fire Brigades, have been put on heightened alert, on the order of the Chief of the Fire Brigade, Lieutenant General Theodoros Vagias.K, after the earthquakes of magnitude 4.8, 4.3 and 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale, which occurred at 12:58, 13:00 and 13:02, respectively, today, centered in the wider area of Prokopios Evia.
As known from the Fire Brigade, so far the Fire Brigade Operations Centre has not received any calls for the rescue of people. At the same time, as emphasized by the Fire Department, all Civil Protection forces were immediately mobilized. In addition, 20 vehicles with their crews from the Fire Services of Evia are patrolling the wider area carrying out checks on the road network, in cooperation with the Greek Police, while a rescue search team of the 7th EMAK is proactively going to the area of the earthquakes.
Finally, the Fire Brigade calls on citizens to be particularly careful and follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
