The President of the court announced her intention to abstain from the trial on the handling of the video footage of the commercial train in the Tempi tragedy after fierce confrontations with Zoe Konstantopoulou.
The president of the Larissa Single Plenary Court where the case is being heard said: “I have received many many insults. I will abstain” and left the bench, clarifying however that her decision to partially grant copies is still valid.
This was preceded by strong protests from Zoe Konstantopoulou and allegations of collusion with the Director of the Court of First Instance, with the President responding that the allegations “lacked merit”, noting that the delay until they returned to the bench was due to a “procedural issue”.
The court prosecutor also spoke, stressing that “we cannot still come here and deal with the technical issue of how to get copies.”
