A serious accident in Santo Domingo involving a Survivor player who was injured during a snorkelling accident outside the game’s filming has caused a shock.

The incident happened off the island of Shaona when a tourist boat swept the contestant away while he was at sea without a marker buoy. The collision with the boat’s propeller left him with serious injuries, including a partial amputation of his left leg and an injury to his right ankle.

According to local media, the captain of the boat said the vessel was on a tourist route to the island of Shaona when the accident occurred in the area where filming of the survival reality show was taking place.

The player received immediate first aid from emergency services and was taken to a private medical centre where he is being treated under close medical supervision. Reports say his health condition is serious but stable and his life is not in danger.

The country’s navy has launched an investigation into the circumstances under which the incident occurred, and the news has caused uproar among both the production and the other Survivor players.
