Strong smell of gas in areas of Attica – Disturbance in the southern suburbs, Piraeus and the centre

A strong odor of gas is detected in areas of the southern suburbs and the waterfront. According to the fire department, as of about 12:00 noon, reports of the characteristic smell were recorded by residents in these areas.

For this reason, forces of the Fire Department, the Coast Guard and crews of DESFA were mobilized in order to identify the cause and origin of the odor. So far, according to the Fire Department, there are no findings.
