The platform will remain open from tomorrow, Sunday 26 April 2026, for all VATs irrespective of which number they expire on.
Beneficiaries for the social tourism scheme whose VAT number ends in 7,8 and 9 can apply for the scheme voucher today, Saturday, April 25.
Social Tourism 2026: Who are the beneficiaries
To receive the coveted holiday voucher, you must fall into one of the following categories:
Unemployed persons (registered in the Digital Registry of the DYPA) with at least 3 months of continuous unemployment, provided they meet the following income criteria:
Up to €16,000 (unmarried)
Up to €24,000 (married – amount increased by €5,000 for each child)
Up to €29,000 (single-parent families – amount increased by €5,000 for each child after the first)
Significant exception: those who received a voucher in last year’s programme (2025-2026) are not eligible, unless they belong to the category of disabled or large families. Also excluded are those who receive a matching grant from another agency for the same period.
What this year’s Voucher offers
The Social Tourism program officially begins on May 18, 2026 and will run for a total of 13 months. With the unique cheque number, beneficiaries are entitled to:
Up to 6 nights in tourist accommodations across the country with a small private contribution.
Up to 10 free nights (zero participation) on the islands: Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes.
Up to 12 free nights (zero participation) in the municipalities of North Evia, Evros and Thessaly (except Sporades).
In addition, ferry tickets are also subsidised. Beneficiaries pay only 25% of the price, while for people with disabilities (disabled persons) the ferry tickets are completely free of charge.
An important innovation this year is that parents with multiple children are exempted from the point system. This means that, if they meet the basic requirements, they automatically participate in the program without competing on points with other applicants.
