The students of the Kato Nefrokopi High School in Drama undertook a special initiative with a strong social and environmental footprint, proving that the young generation can become agents of change through simple but meaningful actions. With creativity, cooperation and sensitivity, the children proceeded to build small houses for stray kittens in the area.

The students designed and built the houses, offering the animals a safe haven against the harsh weather conditions, both in winter and summer. The activity was implemented with the support of the municipality of Kato Nefrokopi and was based on the use of recycled timber, highlighting in practice the importance of reusing materials and protecting the environment.

Mayor Lefteris Tambouridis also made a special reference to the children’s action through a public post, expressing his joy and pride for the students’ initiative. As he stressed, this is a meaningful action, combining creativity with social sensitivity. The mayor praised the team spirit and the attitude of the children, stressing that such actions are the basis for a better future.

Beyond the practical result, this initiative highlighted values such as respect for animals, teamwork and active participation in the community. With the support of their teachers, the students demonstrated that education is not limited to the classroom, but extends to society and everyday life.

Such actions fill us with optimism and show the way to a more humane and aware tomorrow. Because, after all, as the students of Kato Nefrokopi proved, even small actions can make a big difference.
