The same list also includes Basel, Switzerland; Northumberland, United Kingdom; Irish Galway; and Kanazawa, Japan.
“Sifnos is a unique destination that combines authenticity, fine gastronomy, natural beauty and quality experiences. Our goal is to maintain this uniqueness by investing in thematic forms of tourism and offering choices that respect the place and the visitor,” said the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the Municipality of Sifnos, Yannis Rafeletos.
The international distinction is the result of the municipality’s appeal to the Nordic market. The recent presence of the Municipality of Sifnos at the international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin 2026, where important contacts were made with tourism professionals and market players, where the strong interest in special forms of tourism and experiences that create special memories in terms of gastronomy, hiking, nature and culture was recorded.
