Sia Kossioni was on her TV date with the SKAI audience for the last time, as we saw on the station’s main newscast on Friday night.
As it had been officially known by the noon of the same day, the popular journalist and the channel decided to go their separate ways after 20 years of a successful common path.
So, in the last part of SKAI’s main newscast, Sia Kosioni wanted to say her own “goodbye” to the viewers with whom she was connected on a daily basis for 20 consecutive years. “Ladies and gentlemen, this moment has come. A difficult moment for me. For so many years you have seen my face, you have heard my voice, and tonight you may hear my heart, which is beating very loudly at this moment.”
“Because tonight I’m not just going to give you that familiar, ‘this is where our bulletin ends’ and so on. I will tell you that along with that, my beautiful journey at SKY comes to an end. I was 26, I am 46 and it has been a great honour, for 20 long years, to be trusted, by you, by me and my colleagues, to keep you informed. Especially in times and times of distress for our country, for the whole world, which unfortunately have no end. Please know that I have always treated you with respect, with genuine concern in difficult times, with commitment to journalistic values and without any deviation from my principles.”
“Of course, none of this could have happened without the trust of the SKAI ownership and my deserving colleagues. On all floors and in all seasons of SKAI, with whom we worked together, we worked hard and often under adverse and extremely demanding conditions to build what you love,” Sia Kosionis noted, visibly emotionally charged, on Friday night.
“An informative programme of high standards of which we are and will be proud. I thank them, I thank you, good night and goodbye,” the well-known journalist and anchorwoman concluded, her eyes bulging.
