Rhodes will be at the centre of European developments regarding local government, regions and the preparation for the 2028-2034 funding period, next Friday 29 May.

Following an invitation from Mr. George Hadjimarkos, Regional Governor of the South Aegean, President of the Union of Greek Regional Governors, Vice President of the Committee of the Regions of Europe (CoR) – member of the European People’s Party group, is expected to be present in Rhodes with more than 100 regional governors and mayors from all over Europe, taking part in the planned activities.

Leading personalities from the European and national political scene are expected to attend the conference. The aim is to discuss the future of the European Union’s Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2028-2034, at a crucial moment for Europe’s cohesion, competitiveness and territorial development.

Discussions in Rhodes will focus on how Europe can continue to deliver for its citizens through a strong and ambitious budget that supports cohesion policy, agriculture, competitiveness, resilience, strategic autonomy and territorial development.

Among the guest speakers are the President of the EPP Group in the Committee of the Regions, Sari Rautio , and the Vice President of the Greek Government, Kostis Hadjidakis, who will deliver the keynote speech.
