Poseidon Giannopoulos commented on Anna Vissi’s landmark concert at the OAKA, speaking on the show “Rendezvous at the weekend”
The well-known radio producer referred to the impressive interest of the audience for the top performer’s big concert, which is scheduled for September 26. Already, in just two days, more than 75,000 tickets have been sold, confirming the event’s momentum and bringing Vissi a “breath” away from breaking a historic attendance record.
The crowd’s response reflects the singer’s enduring appeal and heralds one of the biggest concerts ever held in Greece.
“Giorgos Dalaras has held the record for 43 years. If I remember correctly it was in ’83 that he filled the Olympic Stadium twice. Of course, we can say for the younger people that we are talking about different circumstances back then. The capacity of the Olympic Stadium stands is 80,000. At that time it was not technically possible and it was dreadful to fill the pitch, the arena so to speak. Because the technical means, the sound, the lighting were such that there could be a danger. There was a lot of cable, there were no wireless microphones. There were 80,000 stands, Dalaras did it twice in ’83 and it looks like Anna will break her former lover’s record 43 years later,” comments Poseidon Giannopoulos.
