On the occasion of the recent positive reports on Greece by the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund, the Governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), George Pitsilis, sent a letter of thanks to the employees of the Authority for their efforts and contribution to the achievement of the objectives of the Tax Administration.
In his letter, Mr. Pitsilis notes that the two institutions “explicitly acknowledged the progress made” in critical areas such as the digitisation of tax and customs controls, the development of digital compliance tools, the reduction of the VAT gap and the overall strengthening of tax compliance.
Special mention is also made by the Governor of the Hellenic Tax Administration of the contribution of these interventions to the overall picture of the economy, since, as he notes in their letter to employees, the European Commission acknowledges that this progress “has been decisive for Greece’s exit from the list of countries with macroeconomic imbalances”.
The Governor of the Hellenic Revenue Authority (Hellenic Republic) gives credit to all staff, stressing that this is “the result of countless hours of work, dedication and professionalism”. As he says, the daily work of employees, from developing digital systems to serving taxpayers, makes up the image recognised by international organisations.
