“We will respect the court’s decision and the state will not appeal the compensation for the Tempi damages,” Kyriakos Pierrakakis said in an interview with ANT1.

The Finance Minister said that the State will not appeal against compensation decisions to the relatives of the victims of Tempe, just as it did with the Mandra and Matiou cases.

The statement of Mr. Pierrakakis:

“The government’s decision is not to pursue legal remedies and to pay the compensation to the citizens, this is not to say that we embrace the rationale of the court decision, this is to say that we respect human suffering.. the state’s minimum duty is to reach out, not to wag its finger.”
