The Minister of Economy and Finance and President of the Eurogroup Kyriakos Pierrakakis is in Washington DC to participate in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The Summit is taking place in a highly complex and volatile international environment, with increased uncertainties about the outlook for the global economy. This will be the first time that Mr Pierrakakis will participate in person, in his capacity as President of the Eurogroup, in the G7 meetings.

During the Summit, the Minister will hold a series of meetings with institutional representatives and leading international business leaders. He will meet with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, as well as with the Fund’s leadership, including European Department Director Alfred Kammer and Director of Fiscal Affairs Rodrigo Valdés.

As part of his public interventions, Mr. Pierrakakis is a keynote speaker in a panel discussion with Alfred Kammer, and will also participate in the Semafor World Economy Forum, “The New Era of Global Growth”, contributing to the international debate on the new phase of the global economy.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the Minister will hold a series of meetings with representatives of international banking and investment groups, while he will also attend an event at the Greek Embassy residence, where he will meet with Greeks serving in international organizations, including the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
