An extraordinary Eurogroup was “announced” by Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in an interview with SKAI on Tuesday morning, 24/3.
The Eurogroup President said there is an extraordinary meeting on Friday, March 27.
“We have called an extraordinary meeting. If the situation in the Middle East deteriorates, initiatives will have to be taken,” he said.
Eurogroup: “Preparing for a bad scenario”
Eurogroup President Kyriakos Pierrakakis responded to the “bad scenario”, based on the crisis in the Middle East.
“Countries, in the first instance, are taking national measures. In Europe we have a new rule. The escape clause is a treaty where you spend extra, your (ed: as a country) money to support, for example, Ukraine after the invasion by Russia.

We called an emergency Eurogroup meeting on Friday. In such a dynamic situation you come down to Plan A, Plan B and, if the situation gets worse, there must be appropriate initiatives.”
He even stressed that Kyriakos Mitsotakis takes such initiatives in difficult circumstances, such as the Recovery Fund.
Finally, he said there is no election scenario, answering a one-word “no”
