Angelos Pentaris spoke to Katerina Stikoudi and the show “f+Zine” about his journey, from a serious injury in his teens to his involvement with music and drums. The young musician talked about the power of willpower, the importance of consistency, and how fear can be a source of motivation.

“Every new thing I try offers me something different. It’s important to have goals – I operate very much with structure, both in training and in music and life in general. But life is not a tick list. It’s not just made up of hits. So I try to focus on the processes that fill me up,” he said.

Then he added: “Music has always been in my life, but I really fell in love with it when I was injured at 14 and had to let go of everything else. I was looking for something to keep me going and that’s how I discovered drums. Everything changed from that moment, both in my psychology and my will to overcome the injury. I didn’t listen to the voices of others – I followed my own “wants”. A kid with quadriplegia saying ‘I want to be a professional drummer’… and thankfully my parents stood by me.”
