A 92-year-old woman was found dead during a fire extinguishing operation in a fifth-floor apartment of an apartment building at the intersection of Panachaikou and Asimaki Fotila streets, in Patras.
In particular, residents alerted the fire brigade to a fire outbreak in the apartment and 15 firefighters with five vehicles and a special air-conditioning vehicle arrived at the scene.
When firefighters entered the apartment where the fire had broken out, they found the body of the elderly woman, while a woman who lived in the same apartment building was taken to hospital with injuries.
Also, as a precautionary measure, a minor who had inhaled smoke from the fire was also taken to hospital.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are being carried out by the Fire Department’s investigative department.
