The Greek Parliament is participating in the activities for today’s World Multiple Sclerosis Day. “In a powerful symbolism, the building of the Parliament was tonight illuminated with the logo of the Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis and World MS Day themed: “My MS Diagnosis” in support of early and accurate diagnosis of the disease,” a statement from the Greek Parliament noted.
The illumination of the Hellenic Parliament aims to contribute to informing and raising public awareness about multiple sclerosis and to increase the visibility of people living with the disease and the challenges they face in their daily lives.
According to the same statement, “Worldwide, it is estimated that around 2,500,000 people are living with MS, of which 500,000 are in the European Union. Around 23,000 sufferers live in Greece, with 11,000 of them living in Attica. The promotion of such an important social message contributes to the overall campaign of the sufferers and the Parliament is always supportive of such efforts.”
