Developments in the Middle East conflict and the impact on international energy markets were discussed at a meeting between Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou and US Secretary of the Interior and head of the Energy Sovereignty Council Doug Burgum.
“At a time”, he adds, “when energy security is a top priority, the strategy of the Kyriakos Mitsotakis government for the rapid development of the hydrocarbons sector, with the participation of the two largest US energy companies in the world, ExxonMobil and Chevron, takes on particular importance.
The same applies to the Vertical Corridor, as a strategic energy axis for Europe, which reinforces Greece’s role in the new energy architecture of South-East Europe and strengthens transatlantic energy cooperation.”
