Giorgos Papakostas spoke to the camera of the show “Buongiorno” about his meeting with the famous chef Jamie Oliver, describing with enthusiasm the moments they spent together in Athens.

As he revealed, their meeting took place early in the morning at the Varvakeio Agora, where they stayed for more than three hours. “I was like a little kid,” he said, stressing that they may not have a personal friendship, but she has admired him for many years, even before he decided to pursue cooking professionally.

During the meeting, the Greek chef wanted to introduce Jamie Oliver to Greek cuisine, suggesting that he try some khigiritsa. “He asked me what it was and I explained that it was a traditional Easter dish,” he said.

The famous chef’s reaction was enthusiastic, as George Papakostas said he was impressed by the uniqueness of the cooked goat and also by the goat stew. He was also particularly impressed by the tsipouros, which they tasted… early in the morning. “He was surprised that we were drinking so early, but he ended up enjoying it,” he commented with humour.
