Significant inflow of water from Bulgaria is expected within the next few hours in the Ardas River, according to an announcement by the Municipality of Orestiada.
In particular, the municipal authority recommends that citizens operating in the area should not approach the river as large amounts of water will enter it as part of the annual technical inspections carried out at the Ivailovgrad dam in Bulgaria.
Also, to avoid accidents, it is recommended not to cross Irish crossings, in particular the Castanea and Rizia crossings and the Olive Bridge.
