A special police operation was conducted on Friday morning, April 24, in settlements of Megara and Nea Peramos, by the Police Directorate of Western Attica, in order to prevent and deal with delinquent behavior.
The operation involved police officers from various agencies, including the West Attica Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Detection of Crimes, the O.P.K.E, the DEA Team, the D.A.O.E., as well as forces from the Police Operations and Traffic Directorates of Attica. In addition, a police dog and an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) were used.
According to the National Police, a total of seven people were arrested, against whom case files were formed, on a case-by-case basis, for theft of electricity and violations of the legislation on weapons.
In addition, 13 violations of the Road Traffic Code were recorded, including for deprivation of driving licence, non-use of seat belt and helmet, lack of child seats and failure to carry out a technical inspection (MOT).
During the investigations, a crack pistol and 82 cartridges were found and seized in a house, while a crew of the DEDDIE proceeded to dismantle cables with a total length of 1.200 meters used for power theft.
