The price of a barrel of North Sea Brent crude oil, a benchmark variety on an international scale, rose again in the early hours of the morning, topping $105.

Brent was up 4% and now at $105.55 after the announcement, around 04:40 (GMT), as did WTI, the US benchmark variety, up 3% to $103.16, while recording a noticeable drop a few hours before the presidential address.
