Nikos Androulakis has proceeded with the deletion of Odysseus Konstantinopoulos from PASOK’s CO.
Yesterday, for the umpteenth time, Mr Konstantinopoulos chose to give a 20-minute interview without making a single reference to the work and parliamentary initiatives of PASOK, without a single line of criticism of the New Democracy government.
He did not find a word to say about the debate, which was taking place in the European Parliament on the initiative of the European Socialists on the rule of law and the vindication of Nikos Androulakis in the wiretapping trial following the landmark decision of the Single-Member Plenary Court.
.
He did not find a word to say about the battle fought the previous day by the PASOK Parliamentary Group to highlight the cover-up attempted by the government with the OPEKEPE finding.
The deliberate aim of this interview was to counter-politicise his party for 20 minutes and try to change the agenda so that instead of the government apologising for its actions, we would be discussing PASOK’s artificial introversion.
.
Besides, lately, every time he has had a public platform, he has used it exclusively to undermine PASOK and not to defend and communicate to the citizens his positions, his program, his political goals.
A few days ago he attacked the Spanish Prime Minister, P. Sanchez, fully adopting the line of New Democracy with the sole purpose of blurring PASOK’s message and providing services to the government, receiving the public congratulations of Mr Georgiades.
For a long time now, instead of arguing against the government’s economic and social policies, the repeated corruption scandals it produces, the unprecedented devaluation of institutions and the rule of law, Mr Constantinopoulos has remained obsessively on the back pages of the internal party process.
The people of the party, however, have turned many pages forward and demand that everyone rise to the occasion, stand united in the battle against New Democracy and communicate the Movement’s positions as they have been shaped by the party’s policy sectors.
The struggle for political change against a ruthless system of power is demanding, daily and must be fought with all our strength until the day of the national elections.
