The New Democracy party’s Political Committee elected the party’s new Executive Secretariat, which met on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
During the meeting, Konstantinos Kyranakis was unanimously elected Secretary of the Political Committee, while all eight elected members of the new Executive Secretariat were also appointed.
At the meeting of the Political Committee, all eight elected members were also elected, who, together with the ex officio members, make up the party’s new Executive Secretariat. The elected members are as follows:

2. Christina Patrikakou

It is recalled that the ex officio members of the Executive Secretariat are: the President of New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis; the Vice Presidents, Kostis Hatzidakis and Adonis Georgiadis, the Secretary of the Political Committee Konstantinos Kyranakis, the Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Group, Maximos Harakopoulos, the General Director, Giannis Smyrlis, Parliamentary Spokesperson Dimitris Kairidis, and ONNED President Orfeas Georgiou.
In addition, the Political Committee unanimously approved amendments to the New Democracy National Organization Regulations, with the aim of further modernizing party operations, strengthen coordination among organizations, and expand the participation of party officials in party bodies.
Specifically, the establishment of Regional Coordinating Bodies is envisaged to ensure more effective operation and better coordination of party organizations at the regional level, as well as the merger of the.T.O. operating in the capitals of the Regional Units with the corresponding D.E.E.P. — except for the Region of Attica and the Regional/Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki — starting with the next internal party elections, as well as the abolition of incompatibilities and disqualifications regarding eligibility for elected office in the DEEP and DIMTO for elected representatives of first- and second-level local government.
Maria-Alexandra Kefala, Athanasios Papathanasis, Stavros Papasotiriou, and Asimina Skondra were elected from among the parliamentary members. The non-parliamentary members include Panagiotis Palpanas, Christina Patrikakou, Giorgos Tsakoumis, and Konstantinos Tsiagliotis.
The Executive Secretariat also includes, ex officio, New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Vice Presidents Kostis Hatzidakis and Adonis Georgiadis, the secretary of the Political Committee Konstantinos Kyranakis, the general secretary of the Parliamentary Group Maximos Harakopoulos, the party’s General Director Yiannis Smyrlis, Parliamentary Spokesperson Dimitris Kairidis, and ONNED President Orfeas Georgiou.
The Political Committee also unanimously approved amendments to the party’s National Organization Regulations, which, according to New Democracy, aim to modernize party operations, strengthen coordination among organizations, and expand the participation of party officials in party bodies.
Key changes include the creation of Regional Coordinating Bodies to improve coordination among organizations at the regional level, the merger of Municipal Local Organizations in the capitals of Regional Units with the corresponding DEEPs starting with the next internal party elections—with the exception of Attica and Thessaloniki —as well as the abolition of incompatibilities and eligibility restrictions for elected local government officials who wish to run for positions in party organizations.
