Shock is being caused by the solving of a brutal murder in Nea Makri, involving a 36-year-old man of Egyptian origin. According to the Marathon Security investigation, his 31-year-old ex-partner, her brother, her current partner and two other people are allegedly behind the attack.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, April 24, at a plot of land on Marathonos Avenue. The perpetrators appear to have organised an ambush, waiting for the victim in a shed near the house where she and her father lived.
The 36-year-old was violently attacked with wooden poles and metal pipes, resulting in serious injuries. Despite being taken to hospital and the efforts of doctors, he died in the early hours of April 27, having suffered multiple fractures and severe internal injuries.
Crucial to the development of the case was the testimony of the victim’s father, who said that his son, shortly before he died, was able to name the assailants and describe the attack.
So far, three people have been arrested – the 31-year-old woman, her brother and her current partner – while authorities continue to search for the two others involved.
