Attica’s natural gas network inspections were completed at 22:30 yesterday and no natural gas leaks were found nor were there any findings related to the distribution network. This was announced today by the network management company, Enaon EDA, referring to calls received yesterday by the company’s Immediate Intervention Centre about odour in the air in areas of Attica.
As Enaon stresses:
“The competent alert crews went immediately to the areas of Attica from where massive calls from citizens came from, for the necessary technical checks. The company reinforced the structure of the Immediate Intervention and mobilized special equipment to carry out the checks.
Enaon EDA’s Direct Intervention Center received more than 356 calls from citizens from areas such as Voula, Vouliagmeni, Vari, Glyfada, Ilioupoli, Argyroupoli, P. Faliro, Nea Smyrni, Byron.
In total, more than 28 technical crews of the company went to the aforementioned areas to carry out the necessary checks, while two additional vehicles equipped with the Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) technology of the Picarro Surveyor system were mobilized for additional checks. This technology is up to 1,000 times more efficient in terms of sensitivity and accuracy compared to traditional methods, allowing rapid and reliable detection over large control areas.
The company is in cooperation with the relevant authorities and always operates with public safety, the protection of its personnel and the integrity of its infrastructure in mind, contributing to the uninterrupted and safe distribution of natural gas.
Consumers are reminded that for any safety issue related to the gas distribution network, consumers can contact the Enaon EDA’s Immediate Intervention Centre at the telephone line 800 1187 878, which operates 24 hours a day.”
