The local community of Ilia is in a climate of deep sorrow today, as the funeral of 13-year-old Konstantinos Kaouki, who died in a road accident while driving an electric scooter in Makrisia, will be held at 11:00.

The funeral service will take place at the Holy Church of St. Nicholas of Makrisias, where relatives, friends and schoolmates will say their last goodbye. The shock of the tragedy remains intense, with many residents visiting the scene of the accident, leaving flowers in memory of the child.

The words of his mother are shocking, who has taken to social media to say goodbye to her son with heartbreaking messages: “In a few hours I will accompany you on your last journey… We did not have time to live all we dreamed of… You were my little fighter, my angel… I already miss you…”

In a previous post, she had expressed her unbearable pain writing: “Did I bring you into the world only to lose you at 13? Good riddance my child… I can’t believe it…”.

The 13-year-old’s grandmother also appeared deeply moved, speaking about the loss of the child she said she raised as her own. “We lost our child… He was a part of us… It was a bad moment… The child was running around on a scooter… We were hit by the dark day… It was nobody’s fault,” she said.

The accident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 29, when the 13-year-old, trying to avoid a parked vehicle, collided head-on with a car travelling in the oncoming lane.

The collision was particularly violent, resulting in serious injuries to the child. He was immediately taken to Creston Hospital, where doctors fought to keep him alive, but were unable to save him.
