The rivalry between Giorgos Liagas and Lakis Lazopoulos has taken a new turn, with the ANT1 presenter launching a particularly harsh attack. This was prompted by some satirical comments by the actor, which led Liagas to describe him as a “fallen jester” and accuse him of bad temper and deliberate misrepresentation of the truth. According to the host, Lazopoulos isolates and distorts statements to maintain his own narrative, hiding the fact that his own show is equally harsh in its criticism of all political figures in power, regardless of party affiliation.
At the same time, Giorgos Liagas recalled Lazopoulos’ years-long television attack on Mimi Denisi, pointing out that he built his career by underestimating a successful colleague, whom he later begged to work with him to create a theatre school. He also directed his arrows at the actor’s political stance in the past in support of Alexis Tsipras, arguing that he has no right to lecture society, and described it as easy to gather an audience that simply applauds him on command. Finally, he urged viewers not to blindly trust any “saviour”, to judge harshly those who have public discourse and to be suspicious of those who see only evil everywhere, as behind this attitude often lies expediency and lack of honesty.
