Fire broke out around 14:15 in an area of low vegetation in Aspropyrgos and remains ongoing. According to the fire department, there is no danger to residential areas.

Initially, 59 firefighters, two hiking sections of the 1st EMODE, 21 fire engines and a helicopter were involved in the extinguishing operation.

As the mobilization was reinforced, the forces operating in the area increased significantly. There are currently 108 firefighters on the fire front with six 1st EMOEDE foot patrols, 32 vehicles and five helicopters, one of which has been tasked with the aerial coordination of the operation.
