Giorgos Katsinopoulos spoke to Katerina Stikoudi and the show “f+Zine”, unfolding his journey from the difficulties of childhood to his important distinctions in martial arts. He referred both to the moments that bent him and those that pushed him to change his course and continue stronger.

“I’m very close to being moved; I haven’t seen myself like this in a long time, so beautifully. At the moment I’m also feeling a bit nervous… it’s not easy standing up to such an accomplished woman. It’s not enough to be good only in the tatami – you have to set an example outside of it. A fighter needs soul and passion. From a very young age I was forced to stay at the Panhellenic, sleeping and eating there. Karate was my first love,” he said initially.

And he continued: “I came home, looked at myself in the mirror, burst into tears and realised I would never be a karate world champion. The difference in level was so great that I realised my body wasn’t made for it.”
