Katerina Lioliou spoke openly about the difficulties she faced in her first steps in Athens, but also about the moments of doubt she went through until she established herself in the music business.

As she revealed, after participating in a music talent show at the age of 19, she decided to move to the capital full of dreams and ambitions. The first major collaboration she was offered was with Giorgos Sambanis at a well-known nightclub on Iera Odos.

At the time, however, she did not yet have financial stability. Not wanting to burden her parents, she spent the first month essentially living in the dressing room of the club, which had been temporarily turned into her personal shelter. She said she doesn’t see that phase as a sacrifice, but as part of her journey.

She went on to collaborate with big names in Greek singing, doing vocals and participating in musical groups. However, after about five years, she felt her path was “stuck”, which led her to thoughts of frustration and doubt about whether she could finally succeed.

At the time, she returned to Thessaloniki more often to complete her studies and even considered pursuing an academic career. Eventually, however, she decided to persevere, putting all her efforts into trying to make her dream come true.
