“After the new statements of Zoe Konstantopoulou, who seeks to remain in the news with every paranoid scenario the human mind can create, we are reminded of a well-known admonition by Bernard Shaw about sycophants,” the Association of Judges and Prosecutors of the Athens Court of First Instance says, among other things.
The occasion was the words of Zoe Konstantopoulou, who, speaking about the Tempi case, referred to blackmailing judges, among other things. “The president of the Union of Judges and Prosecutors, Mr. Christoforos Sevastidis, who is a prolific author of press releases on the Tempi crime case, came here, attacking us, our relatives, our advocates, anyone who questions the procedures that take place here and defending sworn judges and prosecutors and defending criminal acts.
What Mr. Sevastides came to do here on March 10. Because he collapsed on the bench and has disappeared. What is wrong with the chairman that neither the prosecutor, nor the clerk, nor anyone knows and he justifies sick leave for unknown cause and unknown illness until March 30. Why don’t they speak up if there are any conscientious judges and prosecutors left,” Zoe Konstantopoulou said.

After the new statements by Zoi Konstantopoulou, who seeks to stay in the news with every paranoid scenario the human mind can create, we recalled a well-known admonition by Bernard Shaw about sycophants.
This particular lawyer-politician-professional sycophant, covered by her parliamentary immunity, brazenly declared her intention and pursuit of not holding the trial for the tragic accident at Tempe. Democratic institutions are a conquest of the Greek people and cannot be turned into a game in the hands of every dangerous demagogue.
The Judges of the Larissa Court of Appeal have the full support and trust of society and will perform their constitutional duty perfectly.
The statement of the Union of Public Prosecutors of Greece
On the occasion of public statements and statements that take place in view of the upcoming trial of a case of major social interest, the Union of Greek Public Prosecutors strongly disapproves any statement coming from both political persons and persons related to the case of the tragic accident of Tempi, which poisons the social peace of mind and undermines confidence in the country’s institutions, while at the same time concealing fraudulent and selfish intentions, which are unacceptable for the rule of law and the legal culture of the country.
We call on Greek citizens to remain unaffected by these statements, which only cause harm, and to be sure that Greek prosecutors and judicial officials perform their duty with vigour, social empathy and self-denial, always faithful to their oath and to the service of the law.
The protection of justice, as the cornerstone of the rule of law, is a collective responsibility and cannot be jeopardized by irresponsible statements and unsubstantiated allegations.
