The Ministry of Justice has released images and videos of the new courtroom where the trial for the Tempi tragedy is continuing, following the completion of the reconstruction and upgrading of the site.
The court proceedings are taking place at the University of Thessaly’s conference centre, at “Geopolis”, where the hall has now been expanded and redesigned to meet the increased demands of a case of intense social, political and legal interest.
The Larissa Trial Court of Appeal is due to reconvene at the venue on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
Based on the data announced by the Ministry, the total surface area of the courtroom has increased significantly. In the first session of the trial, the space covered 283.75 square metres, while after the interventions it was reduced to 452 square metres.
The upgrades were carried out to improve the conditions of the trial and to better serve all parties involved, including court officials, counsel, victims’ relatives, journalists and citizens watching the proceedings.
A further 100 seats were added to address the capacity constraints that had been recorded since the beginning of the hearing.
