The whole country is concerned about the 17-year-old girl who remains hospitalized in critical condition after she fell into a void from the 6th floor of an apartment building in Ilioupoli.

CAT doctors are fighting to keep her alive as she carries severe injuries from the rooftop fall in the Heliopolis apartment building. She has yet to undergo surgery as her medical team is waiting for her to be hemodynamically stabilized. The latest reports say the 17-year-old girl has severe head injuries, multiple fractures, one of them in the pelvis.

Since Tuesday she has been hospitalized in the ICU of the KAT (she was evacuated from the Asclepion of Voula) and doctors hope she will emerge victorious from this battle.

At the same time, all of Greece is mourning for her 17-year-old friend who unfortunately did not manage to stay alive.

A team of the Ministry of Education with psychologists and social workers is standing by the side of her friends and classmates to provide them with psychological help.

No one can yet realize that the girls decided to end their lives in this way. In the note left behind by the victim, she explained to her parents that she was depressed and anxious about her performance in the Panhellenic exams.

Common evidence also appears to be presented in the diary of the child who is languishing in hospital.

Meanwhile, their teacher, shocked, said they were both excellent students and adored by the whole school.

“There was no sign”

“Very good kids. Up until the day before yesterday at lunchtime we were together. I was joking with them, talking to them, giving them advice. I had taken them on a trip to Crete. At school inside they were a very quiet and smoothly behaved. She was smiling when she talked to you. She was polite when she talked to you. She joined in when you asked,” their teacher explained.

When asked if there was any sign if she had noticed anything strange in their behaviour, the teacher replied, “I’ve been at the same school for 40 years. So I know the school better than I do at home. I have nothing. Otherwise we would have intervened immediately. They were in the same class. They were hanging out. They talked. The other day I was teaching them a lesson and they were laughing, making jokes.

They were hanging out with other kids, too. And when I encouraged them they joined in. I was teasing them, making jokes. So you weren’t prejudging anything they had in mind. They were smiling kids. It’s a crazy thing to do. I mean, I can’t wrap my head around it,” he concluded.

The girls appear to have been planning their unthinkable act for some time.

Friends and classmates of the 17-year-old victim have not stopped leaving white flowers both in the path of the tragedy and on her desk.

Authorities are also turning their attention to the girls’ cellphones to see if they can find anything that triggered their act.
