Maria Fragaki, who was a guest on ERT1’s television show “Early Early”, hosted by Maria Iliaki and Kratos Katsoulis, held an all-encompassing discussion. The well-known journalist and radio producer looked back on her personal and professional career, and focused particularly on the challenges that parents face in modern times.
Referring to her family, she spoke about the strong bond that connects her to her sister, Evi, with whom she and her sister are 3.5 years apart and, despite the fact that people often confuse them, they grew up as best friends. Despite their common backgrounds, she explained that they are very different as characters, as her sister is more impulsive and stubborn, while she seeks calm and prefers to back down to avoid tension. As for her professional philosophy, Maria Fragaki admitted that she has never left a job in the middle of a TV or radio season, always choosing to complete her obligations at any mental cost, even when conditions were not ideal and she did not feel joy in her daily wake-up.
Much of the conversation revolved around her 15.5-year-old son, who is in his teens. The journalist stressed that this period is a big test of patience for parents, which requires mostly composure. At this point, Maria Iliaki intervened remembering her coexistence on the radio with Maria Fragaki’s husband last year, commenting with humor how he remained unperturbed when she persistently and anxiously asked him about the child’s first independent exits, his schedules and his friends. Maria Fragaki concluded that this attitude, full of questions and anxiety, is perfectly normal and healthy for every parent, reminding that this is a transitional phase that everyone has gone through.
