The detection of fourteen cases of theft from vehicles, as well as two cases of theft of vehicles, was carried out by police officers of the Heraklion Sub-Division for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes, after a thorough investigation, preliminary investigation and evaluation of data.
Three minors were identified for the cases, two of whom were arrested, while a case was filed against two women, aged 36 and 37, for neglect of supervision of minors.
As the investigation revealed, the juveniles had formed a criminal group and, since at least the 22nd of July, the juveniles had formed a criminal group.04.04.2025 to 06.05.2026, they systematically stole from parked vehicles in the wider area of Heraklion. In total, they committed 14 thefts in cars and taxis, including seven completed and seven attempts, removing a sum of money of 1,017 euros, four mobile phone devices, a tablet and a spare car part.
In addition, according to police, they removed two rented private vehicles, which they used as a means of transportation to facilitate their actions. One juvenile was arrested during the evening hours of last Wednesday 6-5-2026, after being involved in a traffic accident with one of the stolen vehicles, and a small amount of cannabis was found in his possession. Within 24 hours, another juvenile was arrested (7-5-2026) who was in custody and required to appear at a police station.
The stolen vehicles were located and returned to the offenders, while the arrested persons were taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
