Two separate incidents of migrant detection and rescue were recorded in the south of Crete.

More specifically, in one case, a rescue boat of the Coast Guard, located in a dinghy in a sea area 6 n.m. south of Kaloi Limenes, a total of 44 people were transported to Kaloi Limenes and from there to Heraklion.

In the second incident, a Frontex vessel spotted a dinghy with 85 people in a sea area 26 nautical miles south of Gavdos. A rescue operation was immediately set up and the 85 people were taken to Agia Galini.
