The detection of a robbery committed last September in a tourist area of Halkidiki, with the victim being a 21-year-old woman, announced the National Police.AS.

As it became known, a 29-year-old man of Albanian origin, already incarcerated in a detention facility in the country, was identified as the perpetrator. The robbery, according to police, was committed on Sept. 19, just 24 hours after the 29-year-old escaped from the Kassandra Rural Prison, where he was serving a prison sentence for a migrant trafficking case.

According to the investigation of the police officers of the Polygyros Crime Investigation and Detection Department, the accused entered through an unsecured door into a rented accommodation where the victim, a Ukrainian national, was staying. Using a sharp object, he attacked the young woman, injuring her, and removed 2,000 euros, a mobile phone and her personal documents.

A few weeks later, on 14/10, he was spotted and arrested in an area of Boeotia with the police officers of the Department of Crime Detection and Investigation of Thebes putting an end to his path out of jail.
