The news of the death of Paraskevas Adza, who passed away at the age of 49 after a long battle with a serious health problem, has caused a deep mourning in Greek football.
The veteran central defender, who linked his name with Olympiacos, Xanthi and Doxa Drama, breathed his last on Monday morning (25/5), causing grief to his family, the people who worked with him and the Greek football world as a whole.
In recent years he had been battling ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as motor neurone disease, which had severely compromised his health.
Anzas was considered one of the top Greek central defenders of his generation, making significant strides with Olympiacos and Xanthi, while he also wore the Greek national team jersey in 26 appearances.
