The finishing touches have officially been put on Survivor 2026. SKY’s survival reality show, following the serious injury of Stavros Floros, which shocked all of Greece, ended prematurely on Wednesday night (5/20), when the last Council of the Island aired.
In an episode lasting just 12 minutes, Giorgos Lianos met the players of the two teams for the last time and addressed the viewers, describing what dramatically happened on May 11 on the beach of Survivor.
“Good evening. We are here tonight to talk about the tragic event that happened last Monday, May 11. As you already know, that morning, which was a day of rest for everyone, Stavros and Manos went fishing. A usual Survivor activity for all the players, of course. Carrying with them, as always, the yellow buoy, necessary to protect them from passing boats,” the host said at first.
“This usual activity, unfortunately, ended in a very tragic and unexpected accident. According to the information that Manos also gave us, a passing tourist boat seriously injured Stavros. With the help of Manos, who showed incredible composure and heroism, Stavros boarded the particular boat that had hit him, arrived at the port, where after a short time the ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital.
Manos throughout the agonizing effort was constantly at Stavros’ side. As you already know, the result of the accident was the loss of Stavros’ left leg and an injury to his right leg. Stavros is currently in Miami in one of the best trauma hospitals in America, with an excellent team of doctors, who have been by his side from the very first moment, offering the best possible medical care”, George Lianos continued in his statement.
“SKAI and Ajun are doing and will do everything possible to ensure that he has the best possible medical care and support. As he is now, a member of their family. Stavros, who has shown bravery from the very first moment, remains strong, optimistic and has amazed the doctors and all colleagues for his stubbornness and effort.
Everyone has been amazed by the courage, bravery and mental fortitude of a true life Survivor. As you can see, for us and I’m sure for you, the winner of this year’s Survivor and the 250K is Stavros. Because he is a real Survivor. Because he really deserves it. And it’s one of the few things we can do for him,” noted George Lianos, visibly shocked by what preceded it.
“Of course, it is not possible not to mention Manos, who is a real hero and we will discuss with him so that he can also be helped in every way and be rewarded for his heroic attitude, which kept Stavros alive.
At this point I would like to announce to the viewers our joint decision – because it is our decision and yours – regarding the filming of Survivor. Respecting and fully understanding the seriousness of the situation and always putting health issues and human values as the absolute priority, our decision is to stop. This, tonight, is the last board meeting. And with this, we conclude the filming of Survivor 2026 for this year,” George Lianos concluded.
The shocked players took the floor one by one to express their feelings and send messages of love and admiration to Stavros Floros and Manos Malliaros.
With tears in their eyes, they all acknowledged the courage and bravery shown by the two residents of Eparchi in the tragic accident and made a date with them in Greece, while at the end of the episode they became one fist sending a touching message of support to Stavros and Manos.
