Health Minister Adonis Georgiades today responded to PASOK President Nikos Androulakis via a video posted on X, after the leader of the opposition party filed a lawsuit against him for defamation.

After announcing that he will seek a waiver of his immunity, the Health Minister announced that he is going to file a lawsuit “for moral damages for all that you have done today.”

“I find it impossible to believe that there will be a court of law that will convict a politician for criticizing a politician. And you should finally learn that if you want to accuse me, that if you want to accuse the whole world, you should be tolerant of both accusations and criticism of you,” Georgiades added.

Addressing the President of PASOK, Georgiades continued: “You are not infallible, leave the style of the perpetually angry and if you think that you are scaring me with the lawsuit, dear President of PASOK you are very much mistaken.”

In fact, as the Health Minister stresses, “you are following in the footsteps of all the small parties: you question the polls, you file lawsuits against your political opponents, you don’t talk to anyone and you are responsible for the big political vacuum that even allowed the creation of Alexis Tsipras’ party.”

“The rest will be discussed in the courts because political criticism in the country that gave birth to democracy will not be criminalized,” Adonis Georgiades concluded.

The whole post by Georgiades

Today I learned that I have been sued by @pasok President @androulakisnick for libel as to my criticism of him for renting his property to the Land Registry. In the video below is my response….Mr. Androulakis you got in trouble with me…

My year this year started with a lawsuit filed by Zoe Konstantopoulou and continues with a lawsuit by the president of PASOK.

Dear Mr. Androulakis

First of all, thank you, I will ask for my immunity to be lifted, we will go to court where I will be acquitted and then I will file a lawsuit for moral damages for all that you did today

“It is impossible for me to believe that there will be a court of law that will convict a politician for political criticism of a politician. And you should finally learn that if you want to accuse me, that if you want to accuse the whole world you should be tolerant of both accusations and criticism of you,”

he added.
You are not infallible, drop the style of the perpetually angry and if you think that you are scaring me with the lawsuit, dear president of PASOK you are very much mistaken

And I say to you that you are following in the footsteps of all the small parties: you question the polls, you file lawsuits against your political opponents, you don’t talk to anyone and you are responsible for the big political vacuum that even allowed the creation of Alexis Tsipras’ party.

The rest we will talk about in the courts because political criticism in the country that gave birth to democracy will not be criminalized
