In a second post on X, Health Minister Adonis Georgiades clarifies that the passenger from the cruise ship MV Hondius who is being repatriated has no symptoms but is being quarantined as a precautionary measure.

“Our fellow citizen who is being repatriated from the Netherlands is being placed in quarantine for precautionary reasons only . He has absolutely nothing. Simply because he was found in this environment we are taking precautionary measures. He’s absolutely fine. There’s nothing to worry about. I shouldn’t have written “suffering” as I meant it could be in the incubation period. He is absolutely fine.”
