Disorder was caused around 8 pm on Wednesday (29.04.2026) in the village of Pili in Evia. More specifically, three war rockets were found in the area, prompting the immediate mobilisation of the authorities.
In the village of Pili in Evia where the army rockets were found, forces of the Fire Service, an ambulance of the ambulance service, as well as a strong presence of the Police quickly arrived to ensure the safety of the residents and the wider area.
According to evima.gr, a special unit of the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (TENX) is operating at the site.
This particular echelon has undertaken the control and management of dangerous findings.
The rockets were found in an area that is being thoroughly investigated to rule out the existence of other explosive objects.
The competent authorities have decided to transfer the rockets to Menidi, where they will be detonated in a controlled explosion in order to ensure their safe destruction.
Until the operation is completed, the area is under strict surveillance, while residents are asked to follow the instructions of the authorities and avoid approaching the site.
