EnVols highlights Sifnos as “a distinctive jewel of the Cyclades that has it all”, describing it as a destination that “should definitely be explored this summer”. The publication speaks of a fairytale island “where time seems to have stopped”, with paths leading “to a sea of dazzling blue” and with every turn revealing “a whitewashed little house glistening under the Greek sun”.

The editors stress that this is one of the most authentic islands of the Cyclades, still relatively unexplored by mass tourism, offering visitors a genuine Greek experience. Particular reference is made to the two “souls” of Sifnos, ceramics and gastronomy.

EnVols notes that there are still around fifteen pottery workshops operating on the island, keeping alive an art that has been passed down from generation to generation. At the same time, it presents Sifnos as an important gastronomic destination, recalling that Nikolaos Tselementes was born here, whom it describes as the “father of modern Greek cuisine”.

The article praises local flavours such as chickpea, chickpea fritters and capersalad, while noting that throughout the island one can find quality restaurants or quaint little taverns that satisfy even the most demanding palates.

The beaches of Sifnos occupy a special place in the tribute. Vathi is presented as an excellent beach of the island, with white houses and blue roofs reflected in the turquoise waters, while Platys Gialos is described as one of the largest beaches of the Cyclades. Other beaches are also mentioned, such as Fassolou, which the medium describes as “a real natural treasure”.

The publication also suggests tours to Mount Profitis Elias with its “breathtaking panoramic view” of the entire island, hikes from Artemonas to Kastro, visits to the archaeological site of Agios Andreas, and visits to traditional settlements such as Cherronissos and Apollonia. For Kastro, EnVols notes that it is the old fortified capital of the 14th century, with Venetian origins, winding alleys and remarkable historical value.

The promotion of Sifnos takes on even greater significance as EnVols ranks Greece among its top five European destinations for 2026. In the context of the article, Greece is “represented” by Sifnos, which highlights the island’s potential in the international travel market. The same list includes Spain, Italy, Portugal and the Croatian Dalmatian Coast, destinations considered among the most attractive in Europe for the upcoming summer.

The tribute is in line with the municipality’s travel call, aimed at discovering different aspects of the island of harmony. “This new promotion confirms that our island is increasingly gaining the attention of international markets thanks to its authenticity, quality and special character. The natural beauty, gastronomy, our cultural heritage and the hospitality of our inhabitants make up a unique travel proposition that inspires journalists, content creators and visitors from all over the world. We continue to enrich our narrative to promote Sifnos in terms of quality, enhancing the international presence and extroversion of the island,” said the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the Municipality of Sifnos, Yannis Raffeletos.
