A 0.5% increase in the number of visitors to the country’s museums occurred last December, compared to the same month in 2024, as well as a 5.3% increase in free admission visitors and a 37.7% increase in receipts.
In 2025 as a whole, there was a 0.4% increase in museum visitors, a 10.4% increase in free admission visitors and a 36.2% increase in receipts.
Also, according to ELSTAT, in archaeological sites in December 2025, compared to the same month in 2024, there was a 6.4% decrease in visitors, a 24.7% increase in free admission visitors and a 113.6% increase in receipts.
In the 12-month period January-December 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, there is a 4.9% decrease in the number of visitors, a 7.7% increase in free admission visitors and a 44.6% increase in receipts.
