A total of 861,241 persons were registered as unemployed in the Public Employment Service (PES) register for the month of March 2026, recording a decrease of 64,800 persons (-7%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year March 2025 and a decrease of 42,687 persons (-4.7%) compared to the previous month of February 2026.
According to the statistics of registered unemployment of the CPS, of the total of 861,241 persons, 403,847 persons (46.89%) are registered in the CPS register for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 457,394 (53.11%) are registered in the CPS register for a period of less than 12 months.
Men amounted to 301,973 persons (35.1%) and women amounted to 559,268 persons (64.9%).
The 30-44 age group had the highest number of registered unemployed among the age categories, which amounted to 252,373 persons (29.3%).

The total number of subsidized unemployed, for the month of March 2026, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the respective month), amounted to 176,306 persons, of which 121,528 (68.9%) are common unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 54,778 (31.1%) are seasonal workers of tourism professions.
Specifically, the number of subsidized unemployed, for the month of March 2026, amounted to 176,306 persons, an increase of 8,359 persons (5%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year March 2025 and a decrease of 82,378 persons (-31.8%) compared to the previous month of February 2026.
Men totalled 78,720 (44.6%) and women 97,586 (55.4%).
Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 113,828 (64.6%) are commoners, 2,375 (1.3%) are builders, 54,778 (31.1%) are seasonal tourism workers, 4,769 (2.7%) are seasonal others (agricultural), 504 (0.3%) are teachers and 52 (0.0%) are other subsidized workers.
