Dimitris Makalias expressed his regret for the completion of Breakfast@Star, speaking to the camera of the show “Rendezvous on the weekend”
The well-known actor admitted that he was particularly saddened by the decision to drop the curtain on the morning entertainment show after four years of presence, stressing that it was a television product that he watched every day.
“I’ll be honest. It made me very sad, because it was a show that I liked very much, I watched it every day and my people are on it. I would like it to continue. I miss a product like that, I miss a show like that,” he said.
Dimitris Makalias argued that Breakfast@Star was one of the few purely entertaining offerings in the morning zone, noting that its absence leaves a gap in Greek television.
“It was the flagship of the entertainment piece in daily life. I think it’s a defeat for television that next year the kids won’t be there,”
.
He also mentioned the cases of shows being cut off early in the season, describing such a development as particularly hard on the contributors.
“The hardest thing is when something is cut off in the middle of the season. It seems very brutal to me when you’ve worked for two or three months and all of a sudden you don’t get the chance to fight to the end,” he commented.
He concluded by stressing that when a show completes its regular cycle and decisions are made at the end of the season, it is part of the normal functioning of television and usually comes after an evaluation of all the data.
